What are the best supplements for my immune system?

Below is a list of supplements that have been used to help support the immune system throughout the years.

Vitamin A - a micronutrient that the body uses for anti-inflammation. It enhances the immune function in the body.

Agarikon - a rare mushroom that has a history of immune system supporting properties, with a long history of use.

Astragalus Root - a root that has been used in China for 100's of years.  Astragalus supports the immune system as it has anti-inflammatory properties.

Vitamin B - Usually a grouping of the different B vitamins. They help the body make new blood cells, including white blood cells, which are primary components of the immune system.

Bee Propolis - Studies on mice show that supplementation of Propolis stimulates their cellular immune response.

Cordyceps - A traditional Chinese mushroom, with multiple names like Caterpillar Fungus, Caterpillar Mushroom, Dong Chong Xia and many more, it's extract may improve immunity by stimulating cells in the immune system.

Changa - Another mushroom, Changa can help boost the immune system by reducing long-term inflammation.

Vitamin C - Known as Ascorbic Acid, it has been studied for decades to help boost the immune system.  It supports the productions of interferons and enhances the function of white blood cells. 

Colloidal Silver Spray - It's a spray with microscopic flakes of silver, suspended in a liquid. While silver kills viruses, it's not recommended to take orally due to a condition called argyria, where this skin turns gray.  It has shown positive results in topical tests.

Eleuthero - also called Siberian ginseng, works to increase immune cell production in the body, mainly improving the levels of the antibodies IgG and IgM, which protect the body against microbes.

Fenugreek - an herb with deep roots in Chinese herbal medicine has been shown in studies to stimulate the immune system.

Garlic - has a compound call alliin, which converts to other sulphur-containing  compounds that have been shown to boost the properties of white blood cells.

Ginger Root - Ginger, which is also used in cooking, has shown evidence to work as an anti-inflammatory and also as an anti-oxidant.

Goldenseal - Studies on animals show that one of the main active compounds in Goldenseal, berberine, may help fight viruses like the common cold.

Horehound - is an herb that acts as an expectorant, helping to loosen bronchial secretion and remove mucus and difficult phlegm from the lungs.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus - is one of the bacterias found in your intestines. Studies show that the effect of a probiotic like Lactobacillus Acidophilus help prevent the common cold.

Lion's Mane - is another mushroom that can help boost the immune system function by increasing the activity of good bacteria in the gut.

Maitake - is a mushroom that can help by providing beta-glucans which help engage macrophages and cells that attack micro-organisms.
